How do I book my hotel for the 2016 Conference?

Once you have registered for the Conference,go to the link for the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland in the Accommodations Section of the website. If you want to add extra nights outside of the Conference days, please phone the hotel to complete your entire reservation rather than use the link. Remember to let them know that you are attending the CAPL Conference to get the group rate.

Does the hotel have a discount for the days before and after the Conference?

The discount applies to rooms booked under the Conference Code three days prior to September 18 and three days after September 21. Room rates start at $219 plus all applicable taxes for a Traditional Room.

I was told by the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland that the CAPL Block is sold out?

There are enough rooms blocked off for all of our registered guests, so this should not occur.

Is there a preferred airline and a discount rate?

WestJet is offering a 10% discount.  Click the WestJet link under the Transportation Section of the website.


How do I register for the 2016 Conference?

Click on the registration link to register you and a guest (if applicable) for the Conference.

How much is the Conference and what does it cover? 

The Conference Fee includes all sessions, events and meals, except for Activities. The Conference fees can be paid by cheque, Visa or MasterCard:

  • CAPL Member Fee to July 1                                         $   550 plus GST
  • Non-Member Fee to July 1                                             $   650 plus GST
  • Late Registration Fee (member and non-member)     $   750 plus GST
  • Guest Registration Fee – anytime                                  $   250 plus GST
Do I need to pay the guest fee if my guest is only coming to one event?

Yes, the guest fee is an all-inclusive fee which is an additional charge for all attendees. There are also additional fees for Activities.

Can I change an activity to a different activity and is there a fee or deadline to make the change?

 YES – deadline to make all final changes is August 15

Changes to your activity can be made free of charge prior to August 1.

A fee of $25 will be charged for each activity change between August 1 and August 15. No changes after August 15.

Is there a waitlist for an activity and how do I get my name on the list?

Yes – Contact the CAPL office to put your name on the list.

When I arrive at the Conference, where do I pick up my delegate package and what time is the registration desk open?

Registration is at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland (Court Garden)

Registration times:

  • Sunday, September 18 – 1:30 – 4:30 pm
  • Monday, September 19 – 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 am (Cloak Room)
What is the refund and cancellation policy?

As we need your commitment to attend this year’s conference, there will be no refunds for registration. As delegates are making their own hotel reservations, the hotel cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance of arrival. Individuals must cancel their own hotel reservations.
