Geological Field Trip

This activity is a guided tour of the physical formations in the Grassi Lakes/ Yamnuska/ Seebe/ Grotto Canyon areas ‘in-situ’. 4 stops and a BYO picnic lunch, possible drinks or dinner after at the Iron Goat (at delegates own expense)

Time – 7:00am – 8:00pm

Be sure to bring –  backpack, water, lunch, insect repellent, sunscreen and a hat.

Core Research Sessions

This activity consists of 2 105-minute sessions led by Tom Moslow. Delegates will review core samples from 6 important Alberta plays. Landmen will be able to compare, contrast and even touch the physical formations from these representative samples, without having to themselves tunnel deep into the earth. Cores to be selected from the Montney, Duvernay, Viking, Wilrich, Cardium and Wabiskaw/McMurray (Oilsand) plays. Participants will receive coffee, tea and muffins.

Time – 8:00am – 9:45am, 10:00am – 11:45am
Price – $80 plus GST

Location – AER Core Research Facility, U of C Campus.

Golf Tune-Up and Round

The day begins with 24 players participating in a 2-hour morning clinic with 3 professional golf instructors, 18 holes in the afternoon, and an enjoyable dinner at the clubhouse.

Full event: for the “EDUCATE” portion of this event, up to 24 golfers can register for a morning swing-clinic where they can learn a few things about their swing, stance, club grip and more. A buffet dinner at the clubhouse will follow 18 holes to round out the day

Just golf/tournament: When the main event is at maximum capacity (24) we can open registration up to golf only at a discounted price, up to 120 more golfers. At 144 we can do a shotgun-start full tournament. Tournament includes round, carts, buffet dinner in private banquet hall, and a bucket of balls each to warm up.

Guided Wine Tasting

A 7:30pm start to this after-dinner activity. An interactive and instructional wine tasting, learn a little about what you taste when enjoying a glass of rotten grape juice. Cheese plates will be available.
Our host for the evening, Mr. Tom Firth will guide us through 6 wines from the Cellar’s vast stocks. His selections will include varying price points and quality, rather than a regions-based tasting.
